The London rock scene is introducing its electric new darlings: Gingerella, four
very young musicians, barely in their twenties, ready to make their mark. After a
busy year in 2024, with numerous sold-out concerts in Paris and London,
Gingerella are moving on to the next stage with the release of their first EP on
French label Pop Supérette, entitled Eat Your Heart Out. The quartet, made up
of Tommy Anderson (vocals and guitar), Noah Charlton (guitar), Simon Pattyn
(bass) and Ed Myers (drums), have already taken on a whole host of influences
in style: glam-rock, Smiths, Bowie, Kinks, punk-rock, even Lemon Twigs… Young
lads with flamboyant aesthetics and a quest for free, subversive beauty. But
Gingerella is no mere reminiscence: with the audacity of their time, they are
the darlings of a young generation, while old-school fans are beginning to
believe in the resurrection of rock. The EP includes four supercharged tracks,
including ‘Stacey’s World’, a wonderfully ironic social satire deeply rooted in
British culture. Recorded at Le Mob studio in London, under the direction of
producer Brendan Lynch (Paul Weller, Primal Scream, Ocean Colour Scene) and
mastered by Dominique Blanc-Francard, this record promises to be one of the
must-have events of the early summer for rock fans.
