First up we have a new album from UK don Kaidi Tatham on First Word. 12″s this week sees new titles from Marc Mac on his Omniverse label; Glume & Phossa on Deep Medi and Jonny Faith on Heard & Felt. There’s also releases from Hecker on Editions Mego and Portraits GRM and ETCH on Seagrave.
Pop, Jazz
Gondwana Records have released stunning second album from Caoilfhionn Rose on Gondwana, co-produced by The Durutti Column’s Keir Stewart. Amanda Whiting makes an incredible debut on Jazzman.
Reggae, Hip-Hop
Dub Store drop by with four titles from the late Bunny Lee. On the hip-hop front, Hip Dozer release a 24 track hip-hop compilation and S. Fidelity returns to Jakarta Records.
Soul, R&B, Benga
Rounding off this week’s offerings, we have a deepfunk classic reissue from Perfect Toy on 7″; lost Italian film soundtracks from Whatitdo Archive Group on Record Kicks; a new Karate Boogaloo mixtape on College Of Knowledge Records. Finally No Wahala Sounds release a celebration of benga and rumba music recorded in Nairobi, Kenya in the early 1980s.
