Welcome to this week’s run down of physical releases shipping from the Kudos warehouse.
Electronic
A huge new release this week from Overmono, a stunning remix of For Those I Love’s ‘I Have Love‘, available on vinyl for the first time ever. Single sided with laser etched flip consisting of an original artwork by David Balfe aka For Those I Love. Taken from his debut album, the track ‘I Have a Love’ is a beautiful and powerful ode to a lost friend.
We also have Oliver Torr’s first full length solo album, Kozmodrum’s self-titled third LP, two electronic ambient albums from Other Lands and X.Y.R., and lastly a four track House remix EP on Compost.
Funk, Rock, Disco
UK beatmakers, The Allergies, have got an absolute one-two punch with this new 7″ single, as both sides are fire-in-the-hole, future classics in the making, ready to soothe your soul and ignite the party. Also on 7″, a two track previously unreleased Garage Rock single from GIN, only 300 copies of these available! Finally, a wicked four track Nu Disco EP from German drummer, percussionist and radio host Niklas Wandt.
Afrobeat, Jazz
Back by popular demand, Shaolin Afronaut’s refreshing 8 track Afrobeat LP is getting another repress. This is your chance if you missed it last time around! One for fans of Fela Kuti and Mulatu Astatke. And for Jazz-lovers we have another repress, this time from the Leeds music scene stalwart Tony Burkill. ‘Work Money Death’ explores the foundations laid by the great Tenor players of the 60s & 70s: Gato Barbieri, Pharoah Sanders, John Klemmer and John Coltrane, taking inspiration from their work and using it as a springboard for Tenor Saxophonist Tony Burkill’s improvisation
Soundtracks
Rounding off this week’s releases is the official 14 track soundtrack to the Polish TV series ‘Rysa’. The music for the Rysa series is a combination of the world of electronics, modernity with traditional instruments and folk accents.
