Electronic

Gunai/Kunai & Yorta Yorta artist dj pgz makes his Butter Sessions debut with a killer 2-track EP The Dance / Hypnotic Suburbs. Vaporwave Records founder takes his Central Processing Unit bow with the Force In The Sum EP, and his hard-hitting electro style is immediately at home on the Sheffield imprint.

Soul, Funk

The 4-track Lex On The Beach is a Balearic funk-soul EP by the Estonian group – one for the summer for sure! The talent-studded Hamilton-based funk/soul collective The HP’s is poised to make major moves with the release of their debut 45, Hope To See You Again. British soul royalty John Turrell‘s classic debut solo album The Kingmaker is given a much-deserved release on a limited edition yellow vinyl LP.

Jazz

Moroccan Jajouka master Bachir Attar meets American experimental musician Elliot Sharp for a live jam of drum machines and traditional Moroccan instruments on In New York. During the fall of 2021, The Cookers Quintet performed a brand new set of original compositions to live audiences which subsequently became the 8-track studio album, The PathLalo Shuffle is a rework of the main theme from the original movie Planet Of The Apes, written by the great Lalo Schifrin while Magic Hancock pays a funky tribute to the great Jazz composer Herbie Hancock.

Instrumental East Coast

MentPlus‘ latest 7″ features the fan favourite, Evil Room #1408 on the A side, on the perfect balanced B side you have the hard hitting The Bay juxtaposed by the smooth sounds of Try Not To Say Goodbye.

Afrobeat

Heroes Of Limbo rework two hip-hop staples with stunning afrobeat arrangements. They also bring us  Don’t Sweat The Technique and Pete Rock & C.L. Smooth’s They Reminisce Over You (T.R.O.Y.) which are stripped to their instrumental essence with polyrhythmic drums and percussions, powered up by a massive big band brass section and going bonkers altogether.

Roots Reggae

Ride Tru, originally released digitally and on CD in 2014 is now available on vinyl LP.
