Welcome to this week’s run down of physical releases shipping from the Kudos warehouse.

Middle Eastern Pop

Habibi Funk returns with a curated selection of music made in the 80s by Egyptian artist Hamid El Shaeri, including the iconic track ‘Ayonha’.

Latin

On Rocafort, Papa Orbe‘s debut album under his own name goes back to his roots with a strong combination of cubop, latin rhythms and a heavy 70’s salsa and jazz influence. (Got To) Move On / Rosa Da Ribeira continues the series of edits and remixes from Stefano Tirone aka S-Tone Inc.’s latest studio album, Body & Soul.

Nu-Disco, Neo Soul

Nicola Conte & Gianluca Petrella’s 2021 brilliant collaborative jazz dance album People Need People sees the first track reinterpreted by Joaquin Joe Claussell, the Body & Soul founder and Sacred Rhythm label honcho. This EP is the first in a trilogy of 12″ releases that will also feature further reinterpretations of tracks taken from the People Need People album, by none less than Anthony Nicholson, DJ Spinna and Tall Black Guy!

Lanmou Lanmou is the second album from Dowdelin, and masterfully combines the creole language, Caribbean rhythms, urban energies, dazzling virtuosity and sensual electro.

Electronic

More EPs come from Corporeal Face who drops four Rave/Jungle cuts on Acroplane Recordings, and a VA curated by Finish imprint Sahko. The acclaimed visual artist RUMTUM (aka John Hastings) releases his first full-length via Bastard Jazz.

Ambient

99CHANTS brings stunning ambient work from Equations Collective. Finally, we have a mystic ambient CD album composed by duo IHVH (Marki Van Hoen & Zachary Paul) on Ash International.
