Welcome to this week’s run down of physical releases shipping from the Kudos warehouse.
Soul, Funk
We have a whole host of treats for you Funk & Soul lovers dropping this week, including musical delights from Timmions, Athens of the North, Beatsqueeze Records and Matasuna Records.
Little Ann’s classic album ‘Deep Shadows’ get a much-needed repress on a limited edition golden vinyl. 7″s see a couple of Soul Investigators releases ‘Vulture’s Prayer’ and ‘Paint Me In A Corner’, a nice 45 of two tracks from the late William Stuckey on Athens of the North, plus Matasuna reissue two tracks from 1966 – a Northern Soul joint by Cliff Nobles and a Mod Jazz tune by Russell Evans & The Nite Hawks.
Lastly, Beatsqueeze Records and Bigwax Distribution team up to present a concept album made of 17 original compositions that will bring back ghost memories of your VHS sessions in company the of Charles Bronson, Roger Moore, Pam Grier.
Habibi Funk
Getting rave reviews everywhere, this latest Habibi Funk collection compiles a number of Arabic tunes over it’s two discs.
The music on this compilation does not come from the highly famous names of the musical spectrum of North Africa and the Middle East. Instead, the final body compiled for this record consists of some nichey pearls and often overlooked artists; resulting in a diverse range of styles from Egyptian organ funk, disco sounds from Morocco, an example of the lively reggae scene of Libya, political songs from Lebanon, soundtrack music from Algeria, a musical union between Kenya and Oman, and much more.
Techno, Deep House, Dance
Timedance are back with a trancey Tehcno two-tracker from Sydney based wunderkind Air Max ’97. Third Attempt’s 2020 release ‘World Is Too Loud’ is finally being pressed on vinyl – an uplifting LP, firmly planted in the smoother areas of Deep House. 23 years old Anushka Chkheidze is back with her second album “Move 20-21”. In Anushka’s own words “Move 20 – 21” is a mind journey through space and time without any physical movement.
Ambient
Ash International presents ‘Mirror Views’, a new long-form work from LA-based composer Byron Westbrook.

Andrew Heath has been fantastic environmental Ambient music for the last 25 years and his latest release ‘New Eden’ on Disco Gecko Recordings just adds to his substantial discography.
Experimental
From Jerusalem’s musical underbelly, a memoir of a man being digested by a city on Raash Records. The self-titled album ‘Tholos Gateway’ of musical trio Colin Marston, Alex Reviriego and Vasco Trille. The three bring their most diverse backgrounds to the table for this project, reaching from Black Metal to Contemporary Composition, Jazz, Ambient, Improv and way beyond.
Hip Hop
Shuko is back with his fifth ‘Cookies & Cream’ instrumental LP, a series that started on Jakarta Records and now finds its home on Shuko’s own For The Love Of It label. Also from Shuko, who this time teams up with soul legend Lee Fields and UK newcomer Nia Wyn for a limited edition 10″ single.
