Welcome to this week’s run down of physical releases shipping from the Kudos warehouse.

Jazz

Matthew Halsall announces The Temple Within – a four track mini-album on 12″, CD and digital. Karlrecords present the overdue double vinyl reissue of the Turkish free-formers’ studio meeting with the German Free Jazz titan Peter Brötzmann from 2008.

Experimental electronic

Noah brings us a beautiful LP, Noire, a cocktail of late-night jazz meets Portishead on FLAU. Flux is the 1981 debut solo outing of Robert Turman, an American multi-instrumentalist and avantgarde composer. October Language is the debut album by New Orleans based duo Belong, comprised of Turk Dietrich and Mike Jones.

House, Techno

Two brilliant tracks from the talented Sam Redmore have been paired together for the 12″ vinyl and remix treatment. Cairo based producer Hassan Abou Alam steps up with a 4 track solo EP entitled Fasla, a decisive selection of attitude packed wormhole bass lines and dark basement jams.

Field Recordings

Folklorist Derek Piotr presents the third and final installation in the Bare family trilogy, this time highlighting lesser-known and garbled versions of local folk tunes, and again braiding the past with the present by incorporating his own contemporary fieldwork of the Bare’s living descendants.
