Funk
Freestyle digs deep to reissue this rare UK boogie 12″ by Take Three, originally released back in 1983. Forming the first drop in a new reissue directive from the label, focused primarily on unearthing rare and classic UK funk, soul & boogie. The latest storming 45 from Mukatsuku is a vocal version fronted by Tyra Hammond and it’s classic textbook explosive femme funk with brass stabs galore and twangy southern styled guitar.
Following the last year’s highly-acclaimed 45 by Oregano, Shay Landa and Markey Funk return to Delights with a new way-out collaboration! DECADE, the sixth album by Calibro 35, the legendary cinematic funk combo sampled by Dr. Dre and Jay-Z, gets a reissue on ltd edition Crystal Yellow vinyl and digital deluxe edition with bonus tracks.
Soul
William Stuckey‘s previously unreleased Everything That’s Good In Life is up there with his finest moments, it’s got everything that would have made this a classic over the years and no doubt will make it a future classic for years to come. Also on AOTN, a small run of picture sleeve to celebrate the use of Slow Hot Wind in the Tyler The Creator‘s single Hot Wind Blows.
Jazz, Fusion, Blues
Immortal Onion have already built a strong position as one of the most interesting, new jazz projects from Poland. After two well received albums U Know Me Records presents their new release, Screens. The Roundtable present a forgotten piece of a remarkable musical legacy, the final recording from one the most singular artists to emerge from the British Jazz scene of the 1960s/70s, Amancio D’Silva.
Linda Fredriksson shares their debut solo album Juniper on We Jazz Records. Black Mango‘s Quicksand album was recorded in Bamako over a period of several years, in various recording sessions, giving each musician free range to play on a rhythmic and melodic basis prepared in advance. Big Fish is a tribute to legendary, late Mississipi blues man Mose Allison.
Electronic
First Word Records is very pleased to bring you the sophomore album from Werkha, a 14-track double LP entitled All Werk Is Play. Banoffee Pies’ Disc Service 01 finally arrives on vinyl. San Gabriel Valley based duo German Army present the mysterious industrial album Then Is Now.
Experimental
SN Variations are proud to present Sub, the debut album by composer-conductor Jack Sheen. The Ramirez Brothers‘ fourth studio album, Sci-Fi was released in 2021 and is now available for the first time on vinyl!
