Welcome to this week’s run down of physical releases shipping from the Kudos warehouse.
Jazz
Gondwana press a clear version of Portico Quartet‘s Terrain LP from earlier this year – your chance to grab this one after the previous versions sold out almost immediately. They’ve also repressed Portico Quartet & Hania Rani‘s split 12″.
Linda Fredriksson shares their debut solo album Juniper on We Jazz Records. Lastly, Jazz Room share some super obscure New York Latin Jazz produced by Eddie Drennon. Funky, gritty, jazzy and spooky backing vocals.
Reggae
Before Zero Records deliver us a new album from Micah Shemaiah and Zion I Kings. Reggae fans will want to check out the the range of 12″s we’ve got from King Earthquake, Forgotten Dubs 2005-2014, Earthquake / Money and Love and Happyness as well as a couple of Barry Isaac 10″s on Reggae on Top.
Funk
Delights imprint continues its venture in way-out cinematic grooves with a debut 45 from Oregano – a new collaboration between Shawn Lee, Paul Elliott, Shay Landa and Markey Funk. Bukky Leo’s live interpretation of William Onyeabor‘s music from a performance at London’s Jazz Cafe in 2018 is now available. Legendary UK Funk artist Soopasoul finally make his floor-shuffling, hip-swaying, jazz funk party monster album Twin Stix available on vinyl.
Hip Hop
Lofi heavyweights Mr. Käfer and Phlocalyst fuse Hip Hop and Jazz with their collaborative album Now / Again to be released via Melting Pot Music. Also combing two worlds are The Rebel and Danno on Rebel Music which celebrates the Hip Hop sound in Rome and New York.
Electronic, Dance
Finally, we have two vocal-focused Dance tracks from Wonderwheel and OOH-Sounds.
