The innovative French composer & visual artist Aude Van Wyller aka Oï les Ox (The Death of Rave, Primordial Void, Kraak) receives the remix treatment from the influential German musician Jan Jelinek (aka Farben, Faitiche) on a brace of singular reworks, comprising a sprawling, longform excursion and an uncanny mood piece.
Rewiring the gnarled electronics & oscillating arias of Oï les Ox’s ‘Cinéma du Look’ with rich musique concrète rattle and hypnotic, looped drone, Jelinek enriches the original with his signature granularity, suffusing the track’s already aberrant qualities with an array of remarkable sounds, evoking environments ranging from the post-industrial to the sub-tropical. Two cutting-edge artists, two distinctive soundworlds, thrillingly integrated and mutually elevated.
